Listening Agreement
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This agreement describes the shared understanding between you and Kaspars when taking part in a person-centred listening session through Talk with Kaspars.
Its purpose is to help you understand what the service offers, how our conversations are approached and what each of us can expect.
1. The listening space
Person-centred listening offers you time and space to speak openly, reflect and feel genuinely heard.
You do not need to arrive with a particular problem, goal or subject prepared. You may bring something difficult, something ordinary, thoughts that are still taking shape—or simply the wish to talk and share freely.
You decide what to bring, where the conversation goes and the pace that feels right. There is room for silence, uncertainty, emotion and thoughts that may feel messy, uncomfortable or difficult.
2. My role as the listener
My role is to offer:
Attentive and genuine listening
Respect and empathy
A non-judgmental presence
Space for you to express yourself honestly
Time to hear and understand yourself more clearly
I will not try to diagnose, analyse, correct or direct you towards a particular answer. I may reflect something I have heard, ask a gentle question or invite you to say more, but you remain free to decide what feels relevant.
I cannot promise a particular outcome. Every person and every conversation is different.
3. Your choice and autonomy
You remain in control of what you share.
You may:
Choose any subject you wish to discuss
Decide how much or how little to say
Decline to answer a question
Ask to pause or change the subject
Request a moment of silence
End the conversation at any time
You do not need to appear composed, explain yourself perfectly or have anything figured out.
You remain responsible for your own choices, decisions and actions during and after the conversation.
4. What the service is—and what it is not
This is a professional person-centred listening service.
It is not psychotherapy, psychological or medical treatment, diagnosis, psychiatric care, coaching or crisis support. I am not acting as a licensed therapist, psychologist or healthcare professional.
I do not prescribe treatment or provide medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
If you need specialist assessment, treatment or ongoing clinical care, an appropriately qualified professional will be better placed to provide it. Using this service does not prevent you from also receiving professional healthcare or other forms of support.
5. Emotional experience
Speaking openly and hearing yourself more clearly can feel relieving, connecting or clarifying. It can also sometimes bring up sadness, discomfort, uncertainty or other strong emotions.
You are always welcome to slow down, pause, change the subject or finish the session. You do not have to continue discussing anything that feels too much.
If something remains difficult after a session, you are responsible for seeking any additional personal, medical or psychological support you may need.
6. Privacy and confidentiality
I will treat what you share with care and respect and will not intentionally disclose the content of our conversations to another person.
However, privacy has certain limits. Information may be disclosed where:
I am required to do so by law or a valid order from a competent authority
There is a serious and immediate concern that you or another person may be at risk of significant harm
Disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect legal rights or respond to serious misuse of the service
If I become seriously concerned about immediate safety, I may ask for your current location or encourage you to contact emergency or specialist support. Where necessary and reasonably possible, I may contact an appropriate emergency service.
This is a private listening service, but conversations are not legally privileged in the same way that certain communications with regulated professionals may be.
7. Records and recordings
I do not record listening sessions.
I also do not create detailed notes or written accounts of what you share. I may retain only limited administrative information needed to manage bookings, payments and communication.
You must not record, photograph, livestream, transcribe, publish or distribute any part of a session without my prior written agreement.
Further information about personal information is provided in the Privacy Notice.
8. Online sessions
Sessions take place privately online through Google Meet.
Please join from a place where you feel reasonably comfortable speaking and where interruptions are unlikely. Headphones may offer greater privacy, especially when other people are nearby.
You are responsible for considering the privacy of your own surroundings. Please do not participate while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention.
Although reasonable care is taken, complete confidentiality cannot be guaranteed when using internet-based communication. Technical problems or security incidents affecting third-party services may occur outside either person’s control.
9. Communication outside sessions
Email and website messages are intended for:
Booking and rescheduling
Payment or refund questions
Practical information
General questions about the service
They are not intended to provide listening support between sessions and are not monitored continuously.
I may not always be able to respond immediately. Please do not use email or booking messages for emergencies or urgent emotional support.
10. Emergencies and crisis situations
Talk with Kaspars is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you believe that you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact the emergency services in your current location or an appropriate crisis or healthcare service.
If it becomes clear during a conversation that immediate or specialist support is needed, I may pause or end the session and encourage you to contact a more appropriate service.
11. Respect and boundaries
Both of us agree to participate honestly and respectfully.
I may pause or end a session if there is:
Threatening, abusive or discriminatory behaviour
Sexual harassment or sexually inappropriate conduct directed towards me
Recording without permission
Deliberate misuse of the service
Behaviour that makes continuing unsafe or unreasonable
A serious concern that the service is not appropriate for your current needs
These boundaries protect the safety and dignity of both people in the conversation.
12. Suitability of the service
The free introductory conversation gives us an opportunity to meet, discuss the service and consider whether it feels appropriate.
Either of us may decide that continuing is not the right choice. This does not mean that anything is wrong with you or with what you wish to discuss. It may simply mean that another type of support would be more suitable.
I may also suggest seeking qualified professional support if what you describe appears to be outside the responsible scope of this service.
13. Sessions, payments and cancellations
Practical conditions relating to:
Session length
Booking confirmation
Prices and payments
Cancellations and rescheduling
Late arrival
Missed appointments
Refunds
Technical interruptions
are explained in the Service Terms available on talkwithkaspars.com.
By booking a session, you also agree to those Service Terms.
14. Ending our work together
There is no requirement to book a certain number of sessions.
You may decide not to continue at any time. I may also discontinue the service if I believe it is no longer appropriate, helpful, safe or within the scope of what I can responsibly offer.
Any cancellation or refund relating to an appointment already booked will be handled in accordance with the Service Terms and applicable consumer law.
